Fossils are not common from this location, but can be found during scouring conditions when the algae is cleared away from the foreshore or after cliff falls. However it is best to come prepared with the right tools.

Picks: A pick is very handy at Beachy Head, it can be used for easily removing fossils from the chalk.

Chisel Picks: For the chalk These chisel picks are ideal. Geological hammers are also suitable.

Chisels: Standard cold chisels are suitable for Beachy Head. It is best to take a wide splitting chisel, a standard 1" and a smaller chisel for finer work. These will be fine for splitting the rocks.
